Beauty: symmetry, conventionality, neatness, education and spirituality

26.02.2025

I have been thinking about the beauty of people for a long time. My story of self-development began with this question. In fifth grade I decided:

- Well, since you weren’t lucky with your face, you need to at least become smart. And then I’ll figure it out.

It was there that I started reading all sorts of books.

I don’t believe in the idea that appearance is not important. So we are not considering this option. Appearance is important, it plays a role in society. And you can start judging a book from its cover. Have a conscience and respect graphic designers!

But here’s the truth—beauty has many dimensions. So, for those who, like me, were not given a conventional face, don’t be upset, but read this note.

Have you definitely been in such situations at least once in your life:

The first situation: in the photographs / at the next table in the cafe / Aphrodite, or Apollo, is walking towards a meeting on the street. You just can’t take your eyes off the person. But as soon as you start talking you become disappointed. And before our eyes the person loses his attractiveness. And he becomes disgusted. Although objectively nothing has changed.

For example, Andy Warhol calls this phenomenon an aura. She lives from the moment of the first meeting to the moment of the first conversation. And then he dies and you will never be able to see the aura of this person again. Precisely from the point of view of flair, anticipation - and not from the point of view of magic.

The second situation: you turn on a movie or video, or meet a new person. In general, some new character appears. And at first he was somehow ordinary, so nondescript. Or maybe even completely ugly!! But then he begins to talk and behave in a certain way. And step by step. Second by second. The ugly duckling blossoms into a swan. Although, just like in the first case, the person did not have time to change in a couple of hours.

That is, beauty is not just subjective. She is dynamic. And it is influenced by a little more parameters than taste.

Here they are from left to right:

Hooray! This means you no longer have to suffer from the fact that your appearance is unconventional. It took me a lot of time and money for a psychologist to let go of this moment. But I saw that I was symmetrical, and I admit that on an unconscious level this affects people.

Now we have several origins of beauty. As many as five. And this creates a large matrix of options for a person’s beauty. For example, neat and well-mannered, but unconventional and spiritually poor. Well, you understand.

Then there may be an ideal person - one in whom all five parameters are pumped into the absolute.

This statement in itself smacks of neurosis and perfectionism. As if you can still be beautiful only if you get five out of five. And this system is about something else. That beauty is in two out of five or three out of five. And you can be far from conventional - but still be a bitch.

Now I like to break down all people into their beauty parameters. Thinking about how this person is beautiful to me. Or, on the contrary, think how it happened that he turned out to be such an asshole.
