How to show your work when you are a designer?

December 23, 2024

Imagine an orange. Take it in your hands. Think about it… Now put it aside, we’ll come back to it later. That’s how it should be.

In the meantime, about “beautiful pictures.” No matter how you feel about them. This is important.

So that a person wants to immerse himself in the meaning. It’s easier to work with admiration. How to convince, beg a person to pay attention to weak work. And promise that if he spends time and tries to figure it out, then he will honestly be fine.

Let’s take our orange back into our hands. I hope you haven’t lost it. If you lost it, think again.

Orange is a design. The peel, pulp, seeds are the layers of our work.

Look - we choose an orange by its peel. How bright it is, how it interacts with our senses, whether its aroma makes us want to eat or whether we experience other emotions. When we approach the counter, there are dozens of oranges in front of us. But we’ll only buy a couple.

The same thing happens when we get stuck in someone’s portfolio. We have dozens of projects in front of us, but we will only open a couple of links.

When an orange seduces us, we taste its pulp. Behind the beautiful skin there may be dry, tasteless fruit. Then we will be upset. Or maybe it will be as juicy as the peel promised us. Then we will be happy.

But the orange also has seeds.

What will a person get to in the end? What will we leave him as a reminder of ourselves? When the orange is gone.
