The main secret to productivity

December 19, 2024

Each person has an internal individual battery. If you get enough sleep most often and eat in moderation, then it is quite predictable.

All you need to be productive is to know what percentage:

Everything else is simple math and planning.

Therefore, no other people’s planning systems work. Because they are made by people with a different battery capacity. It will also not be possible to significantly increase the amount of energy. You can do it just a little bit or optimize what you have.

My battery charge is several thousand percent. That’s really fucking bad. I know that if I get enough sleep. I’ll drink tea in the morning. I’ll pet the cat. I’ll read at least a little. And I will understand what exactly I want to do today. Then I can work productively for many hours in a row. And then I’ll go for a run. And I will be happy. Because I know that if the battery level is more than 15-20%, I simply won’t sleep. Until I drain the battery enough.

I think any battery capacity is ok - 10%, 50%, 666%. Not ok - battery change and loss of power. If six months ago it was 500%, and now it’s barely 60%, that’s a reason to think about what happened.

The most difficult thing is to understand which task takes how long. And how conditions can eat up more interest or, on the contrary, optimize work.
