Because our brain is used to not doing this. Or maybe I’m not used to doing this yet. How to look.
This is influenced by 2 habits of our brain that every designer should know.
Everything that makes the brain turn on and get something out of it is more difficult than choosing from what lies on the surface. The name is stored in memory, the face is right in front of us.
Good design does not use a person’s memory and does not force him to think or remember something. He himself shows all the knowledge to make a decision.
It’s easier to answer “What would you rather like sushi or pizza for dinner” than to say “What’s your favorite dish?”
It’s only been in the last 30,000 years that humans have been using names. And the ability to distinguish and recognize faces was formed at the level of naked-ass bibizans. Tens of thousands of years before.
We learned to see pictures before we read. Stocking up on fat is better than counting calories and playing sports.
Whether it helps you remember your new colleague’s name or not, start using it at work.
