Video about slavery “06.06”

Task: Make a video for any holiday that takes place on June 6th.

The video is dedicated to the abolition of slavery and racial segregation. For its creation, footage from the film “The Butler” was used. They show sit-ins that students staged across the country. The Bill of Human Rights plays in the background. The law that J. Kennedy issued after the events occurred. The text is voiced by artificial intelligence. In recent years, it has become the main focus of debates about replacing manual labor. Some frames are complemented by primitive drawings: crowns, numbers, bones, outlines of faces and bodies, crosses. This is a reference to Jean-Michel Basquiat. He was one of the first black nationally recognized artists in history.

For this work, footage from the film was re-edited to shorten the running time of the scene. Then they are divided into sequences. Printed out. Outlined with gouache and chalk. Scanned. And collected back into a sequence. In total there were about 350 frames in the work.
